Gryphons place fourth at Roy Griak

The  Gryphon Girls placed 4th at the Roy Griak Invitational at the University of Minnesota on the weekend.  The Gryphons got strong runs from Mei Mei Weston (who was the top freshman in the race finishing 6th), Alexa Livingstone (19th) and Katherine Marshall (29th), to score 204 points, just 32 points shy of a podium finish.  The race was won by the 3rd ranked team in the United States, Saugus, from California with 75 points.

The Gryphon Men only had four finishers in the race, as the  conditions claimed several runners, (30 C with 98% humidity at race time) led by Teagan Harris, who placed 53rd.

Gryphons make it Two in a Row

The Glebe Gryphons made it two for two winning their home meet the Gryphon Open.  Glebe teams won the Midget Girls and Junior Girls race, placing second in the Senior Girls, Senior Boys and Junior Boys races as well.

Defending OFSAA champion Shona McCulloch (Longfields-Davidson) opened her season with an impressive win, taking the Junior Girls 4.2K race in convincing fashion almost a mintue ahead of her closest pursuer.  It was not the largest margin of victory of the day however as Senior Boy John Pettigrew (Renfrew) posted a 1:07 win over his teammate, Sam Agnew.

Glebe wins Trinity Invitational

The defending OFSAA Overall Girls Champions got the 2014 Harrier season off to a good start winning all three girls races at the prestigious Trinity Invitational in Port Hope, leading the Gryphons to the Overall team title 13 points ahead of Thousand Islands (Brockville) and last years OFSAA Overall Boy's Champs, St. Michael's College (Toronto).

The most dominant performance of the day came in the Junior Girls race as Glebe placed 6 runners in the top 10, behind individual champ Keili Shepherd, and 8 in the top 24, taking both first and second spots in the team competition.   Teagan Harris (Glebe) was the only other individual champion from the NC Region, winning the Junior Boys race.
